Yes, I have had towels that do this. I have found that If I buy the really expensive towels that it is less likely to happen. Check the fibers before you buy and pick out the highest grade possible. (Like buying a sheet)

Do you wear contacts or maybe wipe your mouth after washing your teeth. If so that could be where the loss of pigment on your towels is coming from. Most toothpastes have whitening agents and therefore if if gets on your towel it can "bleach" it. Contact lens solution does the same thing. Also sometimes face washes especially if it has Benzyl Peroxide or Salydic Acid also creates a bleaching effect. probably a chemical in your hand soap if nothing else. My best advice is to make sure that you have everything off your hands/face before using your towels! had it happen on cheap and expensive towels. My solution is to buy cheap towels (Or white ones!) that you mind replacing year after year!

You only bleach white towels
Use color safe bleach on colors – Clorox 2 when need on or stains.
You can make your tell soft use hand wash decliate soap that is clear liquid. Add small amount of fabric softener to final rinse in warm water. I use the 2nd rinse cycle to make sure it gets all excuse soap out
To get rid of spot that cruded you can re-dye with rite you will find this product at but you may want to buy 2 box per color use hot water for best color results and let it soak for 1 hour
Wash off rite with bleach cleaner such as Colorx this works much better than Lysol or any muti-purpose should use on the floor or walls. It not does not give best results on white or sliver metal bleach works the best. Use a sponge with all water squeeze out and light spray cleaner on into area of need and wipe inside by side left to right or right to left you will see less lines when it finish drying or you can use a towel that white to wipe it off lines.

I just think you need to work it into your daily schedule. Either right after waking up or right after coming home from work, just jump in the shower for 5 minutes. Make it of your daily routine and it should be easier to do.

this has happened to me also.i have bleach like stains in all my older towels and washcloths. the best thing to do is get new ones.if you can wash them on the gentle cycle.use a color safe bleach.i have found that if i wash a load of whites before,there is a bleach residue left in my washer.
